About us

Why we built Bluefundr

I came to this as a club volunteer. I coached underage camogie, ladies football and boys soccer, and spent time on our club committee. That's where the problem was obvious: everything we did to raise money was manual. The lotto sold on paper, the membership fees in a spreadsheet, the fundraisers stuck at the match or the pub. If you weren't at either, you were out.

So we built what we wanted: one place to run all of it online, that anyone can pay into from their phone. Lotto, memberships, fundraisers and pitch bookings, together. The lotto tends to be the steady weekly earner, and the rest is there when you need it.

We take handling money seriously

Bluefundr moves real money for real clubs, so it has to be done properly. Our background is in building software, including years in financial services, and that shaped how the whole thing is put together.

Payments are handled by Stripe, the same infrastructure used by companies you already trust with your card. Money from your lotto, memberships and competitions goes straight to your club. We're a registered Irish limited company based in Wexford, not an anonymous app.

You only pay when your club earns

Here's the part we're proudest of.

Most platforms charge a setup fee, then a monthly subscription, then still take a cut of every payment. You pay whether the fundraising works or not. We didn't want to do that to volunteers.

Bluefundr costs nothing to set up and nothing to run. No subscription. We take a small fee only when money moves, to cover payment processing and running the platform. If your club raises nothing, it costs nothing.

You should never have to gamble the club's money just to try raising some.

A small team, close to the ground

We're a small team in Wexford, and we like it that way. It means when you get in touch, a real person answers, someone who understands club life because we've lived it.

If you're thinking about bringing your club's fundraising online, or you just want to ask a question first, we'd love to hear from you.
